A story of courage, compassion, and freedom.

A Light in the Dark: The Story of Bandi Chhor Divas and Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji is a beautifully illustrated children's book that introduces young readers to the story behind one of the most meaningful celebrations in Sikh tradition.

Through the story of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and the 52 princes, children are introduced to lessons of courage, compassion, selflessness, and standing up for others.

Bandi Chhor Divas is more than a celebration. It is an opportunity to teach our children about Sikh history and the values that continue to guide our community.

A children's storybook worth passing down.

Designed with young readers and families in mind, this Sikh Children's book for kids offers a meaningful way to:

• Learn the story behind Bandi Chhor Divas
• Explore Sikh history in an age-appropriate way
• Introduce children to important Sikhi values
• Encourage conversations about freedom, compassion, and helping others

Learning that lasts beyond Bandi Chhor Divas.

With a reflection and lessons from Guru Ji, this book invites readers to return to the story throughout the year. Revisit it together to spark meaningful conversations about courage, compassion, freedom, and standing up for others, not just during the celebration.

Read it together as a family.
Share it with a classroom or Punjabi school.
