We are proud to announce that we will be highlighting our wonderful contributors to our textbook and workbook in the following weeks.
First up: Professor Harminder Singh Billing!
Professor Billing provided us with beautiful drawings of Punjabi families that we used in our ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ/ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ (my home/my family) section of our textbook (the example highlighted in the photo below), in which we describe kinship terminology in Punjabi.
Kinship terminology is a very novel concept in our language as almost every familial relationship has a unique name.
Professor Billing taught Punjabi for 36 years in India, and holds a Bachelor’s in Education in Music, specifically ‘Sangeet Visharid’ as well as a Masters of Arts in Punjabi. His passions include: drawing, painting, teaching musical instruments and giving voice lessons.
We are so grateful that Professor Billing was kind enough to provide his amazing artwork as a contribution to our book!
